Crochet Christmas Presents Ideas
As a student, Christmas time is an exciting time once exams are over and you get to go home however it is a really tricky time because of how expensive it is.
This week I'm going to consider ways that I can gift my family members crochet gifts (probably as well as some proper ones). This may be a very easy task if you have a relative which has a very similar style to you however I have two brothers and all male cousins non of which would appreciate this top or this top. I will link patterns that I plan on making as well as photos of projects that I am currently making.
With a lot of older female relatives, I plan on making a fair amount of scarves but want to find either some really nice yarn or an intricate pattern.
Pinterest was a huge inspiration for these designs however a lot look fairly complicated and I am a beginner still so am expecting a fair amount of trial and error in the coming weeks.
These Turtle Coasters by Gina Jiang would make super cute Christmas presents.
It does cost £7 to download the pattern on Etsy however when compared to those being sold already made, you are saving around £20-£40. They are also quite small so I imagine wouldn't take a huge amount of time to make. Also, these are very small one ball of each colour of yarn I'm sure would be enough for around 4 of these.
I have never learned how to crochet in circles, I tend to stick to straight lines so this might take some getting used to however I am confident I would learn fast.
As I said before, I am looking for funky patterns for scarfes, this Belfast Linen Scarf pattern looks perfect for me. I have loads of spare yarn to get through so this is ideal, I think with the fringing I might have to learn some new techniques but this is as expected. Cost wise I imagine this scarf to be pretty inexpensive, costing only £2.21 for the pattern on etsy (linked above) and I think the majority of yarn I can take from the balls I already own.
I have been eyeing up these crochet flowers for a while, I know they are fairly trendy on TikTok but I think they would make a timeless gift for an older relative.
This Tiny Bouquet Crochet Pattern is completely free and would be perfect for this.
